Once upon a time the fandom was...

Like I said I was in the fandom before… I get in this fandom in the middle of the storm of the 15th anniversary. I was younger than now and a little naive, people grow and I did.

I think even if they reached the peak of fame really late for an Idol (Ochan had 29 at that time) I think now is a good time to take a break if they need it.

I'm recalling the memories of the older in this fandom.

By 2011 there were more than 15 active subbing communities for the regular shows. There were subber for English, Español, Indo, vietnamese, Italian, Phillipino, french, korean, chinese. The subbing were about regular shows, dorama, movies, concerts, PV, interviews and even radio shows.

How much of them are active now? I think only 4 TOS, sekaini, AnoM, and eng trans.

For fanfic the most active community here in livejournal have a rate for 5 or 6 posts a day now there’s day without post at all. Now is more common AO3 but even there the fanfic posting in english decreased to 1 a day or 1 week.

In the fanart the same, some artists left in twitter.

What about images? In livejournal we had almost 3 or 4 scans communities. Today we mostly live from the photos on weibo. I adore chinese fans but I can’t reach weibo by Chinese foreign policy who only accept US and Canada, (weird chinese huh?.)

The sns were livejournal, dreamwidth, facebook, twitter, tumblr, blogspot and some olders like angelfire. Now the fandom mostly reunites in facebook (some east asian, taiwanese and spanish speakers),instagram (mainly asian and japanese) twitter (japanese, korean, spanish speakers, US and canada, french, italian, east asian, well… everyone but chinese),weibo, blogspot (some spanish speakers), livejournal and dreamwidth and lastly tumblr.

The sns are many now compared with the ones existed back in 2011. But is not only about quantity but about quality.

Here in livejournal on dreamwidth things got a little more lonely. The fans here dramatically decreased in 2015. And the most important thing we have lost is the sense of community.

Now we are professional leechers waiting for download the last material in raw without giving a “thank you” at least.

There were place for giving opinions to everything they do good or bad. There are so many wonderful examples in some old LJ about sharing thoughts. The last single commented here was Sakura.

I arrive at the part I wanted to say…. Once upon a time in this fandom was a place of freedom of speech.

I saw many wonderful and unique contributors who left the fandom or entered in hiatus because of intolerance. Intolerance make a fandom.a dictatorship, made it painful and sad. In one word imposing a way of thinking hurt deadly arashi fandom base. I said many times I was afraid to express myself in something normal like “I don't like that song”.  People here in and other SNS told me “they put their best effort to do this single, be respectful”... and I was what?....Seriously not even think people bashing me because I said Ohno didn't want to continue with Arashi…

People discriminating someone because of their nationality, language at even religion (for the one who don't know Latin Americans for many people are for definition Christians so we can’t say a thing about BL).

WHAT ….WHAT ...WHAT?

I understand the people who left the fandom and these put distance to Arashi. Just before the hiatus announcement I did a request to join a subber community but I got rejected and I don't know why because I really did everything they ask for. After that I received many commentaries about the managers being harsh because they didn't want latin Americans because they think us are prone to break rules. I don't know what to believe but I got rejected without explanation.

When I started this place I didn't want to said something stupid that can expel me from a community…. I was terrified because if I said something about my personal taste about their music could lead to haven’t access to subs or raws.

Imagine if I said some rumour, political view or criticize their management… would be terrible.

But we are here now, many of the biggest Arashi fandom.contributors are gone or in hiatus due this type of conduct. I'm trapped between the rule breakers and the strictest fans. I decided from now onwards to let be myself, not to hide my opinions behind the forced polite only way of thinking. Instead I'll let my opinions flow in the most polite way, but be aware I'll say 'I don't like this song' or 'the dance steps here are boring', I'll express my way of feeling.

Because, once upon a time in fandom was a place to express yourself, have fun and share it with others... and I want to get back to those times.

How is going? (trilled huh?)

I was in a non programmed hiatus, that's simple happened. I'm still in a semi hiatus phrase because of  health issues … it isn't working.

Several things changed during my “forced vacation”.

I’m using layout lunge' ones, so flexible squares is no longer supported, as tiny pic isn't working any more, so my poor LJ isn't looking like the last time I entered here. I don't want to change it now, but feels different and I worked so hard on the graphics.  懐かし! If someone wants the view with the gorgeous emoji just click in the title, and the entry view allow a full color emoji.

As for Arashi, I feel like I came back ten years after… seriously, they have so many activities this year and I missed all of them. So many changes… I don't know if I will return to be a hardcore arashi fan, today my priority is my health.

In a certain way I wonder if Arashi members will feel like me after 2021?

I‘ll try to catch up with everything but I know is too much for a month or so… The important thing is I’ll try to follow them,

Hello my fellows arashians. As you already know I had a condition, I’m madly arashian. The two past things I posted here I reflect about the sales and PV of our boys (for me would be forever my boys, I’m ten years younger though.)

Here, I done a nice chart about all (I least I tried to find all) songs that Arashi performed live in music shows.

That means:

• Stage report doesn’t count




• Songs like “carnival night” in MS during blast in Miyagi doesn’t count




• I don’t count covers




• Have to be as least 1 minute.

That could be useful for 3 reason

• If you like as me find data about them




• If you looove a song and want to have all performances.

A brief information about some music shows.

🌷(MS) Music Station holds the top on arashi performances. The program started in 1986 and still ongoing on tv asahi.

🌷(SC) Shounen club is the Jr program on nhk.

🌷(JDC) Johnny’s countdown. Begun on 1997 between J-friends as part of the fundraising for Kobe board of education.

🌷(FNS) Fuji music festival begun in 1974 as a contest. The last grand prix was given in 1990. Has the traditional edition in the end of the year and other more in spring and summer.

🌷The music day: Begun in 2013 as part of “best artist” production in mid summer for the Tohoku earthquake relief. (the performances of Arashi began in 2013 and the songs before that year were part of medley. I can’t count the special performances when they cover their own songs on ans)

🌷Best artist: Began in 2001 as a selection from the audience. Then in 2009, the program was revamp and the medley were composed directly by artists. Sho serves as MC since 2009.

I have seen some inquiries of fans in TW and and here about the sales of Arashi. They wanted to know If Arashi have a drop in their popularity or a significant change in the sales.




First of all, Japan have the 2nd biggest discographic industry in the world. Aside of that, Idols are 30% of the discography and Johnny's is only the half.




I began to learn about this industry by Arashi. I will try to explain the little things I know about the business.

last post or my last interaction here. Sorry. Health issues and RL are driving me crazy. I wasn’t in the fandom for two month not even for post the “HIATUS” phrase.

Is quite unbelievable I don’t follow JE for that short and everything changes.

The retirement of Tackey surprised me a lot. I’m happy he accedes to a management position in the JE. He was a great johnny and the most wonderful Jr of all times. He was the one who all jr respected back then.

In the other hand I’m sad about Tsubasa. He is too the image of the golden era. He was bright back then. Like him sometimes, my own health put limits on my career.  I believe he could have some management desk in JE too, but maybe the full retirement was his decision.

We are close to the 20th anniversary of Arashi and maybe this make the news more painful. In this year retired from Johnny's 3 of most powerful JR of all times: Subaru, Tackey and Tsubasa. Since 1995 the jr. were divided into “Kansai johnnys jr” and “johnnys jr” (for all those who doesn’t belong to kansai). From this sub units remain in the agency: Arashi, KAT-TUN 3, Yamapi, Ikuta Toma, Kazama Shunsuke and Yara Tomoyuki. From Kansai side the part of the Yu Yokoyama Yu, Murakami Shingo, Maruyama Ryuhei, Nishikido Ryo. The other K8 members joined the agency after 1999. There were other Jr in that time, they were the Jr more young of the agency they have 10 years or less: ふぉ〜ゆ〜, ABC and Fujiyawa Taisuke.

Less than 10 johnnys remain in the agency after 200 jr pool at 1999. The most awesome and bright era of Johnny’s begun with NHK “Idol on Stage” where Arashi begun their path.

I know everyone has the right to leave the agency for pursue their own career, but I’m sad about the treatment they had in the agency. Sometimes the three of them didn’t receive the correct publicity in the media or the right work offers. How did they turn the most successful Jr into talents in the bottom of the agency?. T&T didn’t have not even the half of the work of TOKiO.

I found awful the common japanese philosophy of the end of the career at 40. Normally Idols has an “expiration date” at the age at 30, SMAP was the first idol whom surpass the 30 years mark in the top of the success.

And I have the worst proof of that way of thinking: Aiba. Yes, my own ichiban says so. He thinks he can’t reach anything else since the day he reached 30 years old (zero G making). I’m 10 years younger than him but I still love him like he is right now. I don’t want to believe him, Arashi has much more to do in entertainment industry. I hope he changed his mind by now.

Most of the newspapers in japan says the end of Heisei era is the end of the idol era too. They compared the popularity of Idols like the end of the bubble at the 10th of Heisei.

I’m sad… truly. Even if they aren't my group is still sad, they are from the same generation as Arashi and shared with them most of the precious moments during their teenage.

I want them to enjoy their new life now, they deserve it.

Wow! Second post of kinki. Maybe some JE fans out there who doesn’t know about the solo activities of Kinki. They begun with the solo activities right in the beginning before debut. Tsuyo have the starring role for Kindaichi dorama and he sang alone the main theme ひとりじゃない in 1995. The same for the performances in musicals for Koichi. Koichi did Play zone and Kyo to Kyo and his first musical was Mask 1999.

In the music field they begun writing together in 1996, but in 2002 they have their personal projects. Tsuyo and Koichi had their solo album in 2002 and made their first solo concert in the same year.

Koichi Domoto

For his solo work he has used only Domoto Koichi as pen name. He has previously used DoKo, K-Dino, 51 for Kinki Albums. He had done 5 singles, 4 albums and 2 Shock soundtracks. From Shock he have done 7 DVD credit him as main choreographer and Music. Also he have produced the musical since 2000. But, we are talking about music and lyrics makers... here is his work

Tsuyoshi Domoto

Tsuyoshi begun his solo activities in 2002 with his first single and in the same year released his first solo album. During all this time he published his work with different pen names: Tsuyoshi Domoto (until 2004), ENDLICHERI☆ENDLICHERI (until 2007), 244ENDLI-x (2008), Tsuyoshi Murasaki (2009),

Tsuyoshi Domoto (until 2018), and now ENDRECHERI.
